The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to invite nominations for the 2012 Art*standing Achievement Award. This award is given out annually to an individual who is "doing outstanding work as a volunteer for a local arts organization, and/or to an individual who is making a substantial contribution to the vitality of the local arts community in Allegany County." Nominations from the community, consisting of a brief narrative of no more than 500 words, will only be accepted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for all nominations is 11:59PM on Friday May 25. A committee of three judges will review the nominations, and select a winner who will be announced at our annual Membership Meeting & Picnic on June 14. The award winner will be recognized with a plaque, and will be entitled to choose a local, non-profit organization to receive a $250 donation (made in honor of the award winner) from the Allegany Arts Council.
