Frostburg State University’s Department of Music will present its Opera Theatre performance, “An Aria in the Spring,” directed by Mariana Mihai-Zoeter and accompanied by Dr. Sean Beachy on Friday, April 13, at 8PM in the Pealer Recital Hall of FSU’s Performing Arts Center. This event is free and open to the public.
Come see music come to life from favorite operas such as “Vanessa” by Samuel Barber, “Tosca” and “La Boheme” by Puccini, “Cosi Fan Tutte” (“Thus Do They All”), “Le Nozze Di Figaro” (“The Marriage of Figaro”) and “Die entführung aus dem Serial” (“The Abduction From the Seraglio”) by W.A. Mozart, “Der Freischutz” (“The Freeshooter”) by C.M. von Weber and “Fra Diavolo” by Auber. The performance will begin with arias, songs from an opera that are performed by one person and an orchestra. The performance will continue with exciting and engaging scenes that everyone is sure to love.
Student performers in this production include tenor Robert Brown, actor and narrator Cody Giliam, tenor Sylvern Grooms, soprano Lauren Huyser, soprano Bailey Kerr, baritone David Kincaid, soprano Alisson Moses, mezzo-soprano Joy Marsiglia and soprano Britany Poindexter.
