The Cumberland Music and Arts Club will sponsor its twelfth annual Young Artists’ Benefit Concert Sunday, May 20, at 3PM at Windsor Hall, located at 45 Baltimore Street in Downtown Cumberland. The concert will feature performances by talented area high school musicians from public, private and home schooled settings. Vocal, instrumental and ensemble students are eligible.
The event is open to the public. A free will offering will be received to benefit future Music and Arts Club Scholarship recipients. A reception to honor performers, teachers and accompanists will be held in Windsor Hall following the performance.
The concert committee is chaired by Nancy Salmon and includes Marian Bittle, Allen Emerick, Gwen Harris, Sarah Newman, Dottie Pesta, Ed Wagner, Stephanie Yonce and Olivia Zeigler.
The Scholarship Committee is chaired by Allen Emerick and includes Clare Cooper, Kim Jackson, May Robb and Rebecca Zoller.
During its 90 year history, the Cumberland Music and Arts Club has sought to increase knowledge of and love for the creative arts throughout the greater Cumberland area and to provide artists of all ages the opportunity to share their talents. The Scholarship Program and the Young Artists’ Concert, scheduled for May 20 at Windsor Hall in Cumberland, are two ways the Club seeks to fulfill its mission.
The Cumberland Music and Arts Club is a member of the Maryland Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs.
