The Allegany Arts Council and the Cumberland Department of Parks and Recreation are pleased to present the 2012 Sunday in the Park concert series. Presented as part of “Summer in the City” in conjunction with Friday After Five in Downtown Cumberland and Saturdays Live! at Canal Place, the Sunday in the Park concert series offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some of the many talented local musicians in our community.
All Sunday in the Park performances are scheduled for 7:30-9PM on Sunday evenings at the Constitution Park Amphitheatre in South Cumberland. Best of all, the entire series is FREE and open to everyone--thanks to the generosity of our sponsors First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union, TWR Communications, and Doug Schwab & Betsey Hurwitz-Schwab! Feel free to bring an old blanket or a lawn chair and make yourself comfortable on the grassy hill in front of the band shell. Sunday in the Park concerts are a great way to unwind and relax at the end of the weekend, and the perfect time to spend a warm summer evening under the stars with family and friends. June 17 - 33 and 1/3 - Special Father’s Day concert! (Classic Rock)
June 24 - Gina Powell & the Electric Band (Originals & Covers from Kinks to Beatles)
July 1 - Grateful Ted (Classic Rock)
July 4 - Potomac Concert Band (Patriotic Tunes & Familiar Standards)
July 8 - Highland Grass (Bluegrass)
July 15 - Jazzitis (Cumberland Jazz Society, Big Band Jazz)
July 22 - Simon Sez (80s Tribute Band)
July 29 - Borrowed Time (Rock, Folk, Southern Rock, Blues Mix)
August 5 - Surrender Dorothy (New Rock)
August 12 - 20 Miles to Friday (Simple, Fun, Rock)
August 19 - Shanty Irish (Irish Music)
August 26 - Tri-State Youth Orchestra (Varied Orchestral Compositions & Arrangements)
September 2 - Potomac Concert Band (Broadway Tunes & Familiar Standards)
September 9 - Grateful Ted (Classic Rock) Rescheduled from July 1
