The District 16 Volunteer Fire Department is hosting the 2nd annual Mountain Maryland BBQ Competition & Festival on August 17-19 at the Allegany County Fairgrounds. This statewide championship BBQ event, sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, is sure to attract a large crowd!
Along with this weekend event, space has been set aside for Arts & Craft displays and vendors. Last year many local artists told organizers that they were interested in participating in this event, however, didn't have enough art to warrant a space of their own. This year Dist. 16 VFD is offering a group display area to members of the Allegany Art Council. The normal set-up fee is Fri. $25, Sat. $50 and Sun. $25 or $75 for the weekend. With this offer, any Allegany Art Council members can set-up in this area any or all three days, and Dist. 16 VFD will allow as much space as the artists need. There will be NO set up fee. Dist. 16 VFD will charge 15% on each individual’s sale, which the artists will track and then pay to Dist. 16 VFD. The individual’s fee will cap out at $50 for the weekend.
