APPLY TO EXHIBIT Our Galleries The Allegany Arts Council operates two gallery spaces which showcase artwork throughout the year, The Saville Gallery and the Mountain Maryland Schwab Gallery. Our goal is to provide a yearly calendar of exhibitions demonstrating varying art perspectives. We welcome and routinely collaborate with other organizations to showcase art and artists from communities beyond our region. How We Make Selections An Exhibition Committee, comprised of our membership, many of whom are local artists themselves, selects the artists to exhibit and bases their decisions not only on the quality of the artists and pieces, but also how the art presented fits into our annual exhibition calendar. The Exhibition Committee meets quarterly to review applications - please make note it may take some time for your application to be reviewed upon receipt. Notifications Once the Exhibition Committee meets, you will be contacted with either a confirmation or comments about how your work can fit into our exhibition schedule moving forward. In some cases, the scope of the inventory may exceed the cost guidelines we use for our community, and artists may be asked if they are able to present pieces at a lower price point. Our goal is to work with artists to ensure their time and art is appreciated, and give them the best opportunity to make sales while exhibiting. Contracts After notification, artists who have been selected will receive via e-mail a contract indicating a six-month range of time for their exhibition and other important guidelines and deadlines. Artists are not confirmed to exhibit until the signed contract has been returned. Promotion The Allegany Arts Council will promote its exhibition schedule using a variety of marketing strategies, including our weekly newsletter, website, promotional banners, and rack cards, but artists are also encouraged to promote to their customer base by sending information about the show. We find the best outcomes include both artists and Arts Council promotion in tandem. Apply to Exhibit To apply for an exhibition, please complete the Exhibition Application.
