If you stop and think about it, "quality of life" plays an important role in the economic and commercial vitality of our community. And the arts are a big part of the "quality of life" in our area.
In addition, the arts also play an important role in economic development. By virtue of its leadership role in the two Arts & Entertainment District programs in Downtown Cumberland and Downtown Frostburg, the Allegany Arts Council is having a direct impact on community revitalization and local economic development. Artists are moving to the area, buildings are being renovated, and new small-businesses are paying local taxes. The success of both Arts & Entertainment Districts and the work of the Allegany Arts Council has also generated national exposure and recognition for our community, and the area has become known as a regional arts destination.
All of this is to say that the arts have a direct connection to the economic environment in which you do business. Your support of the Allegany Arts Council through an annual Business Membership will help to keep our organization financially strong and actively engaged in serving the community. Your generosity will also help us to support the many individual artists and non-profit arts organizations that contribute positively to the "quality of life" in our part of Mountain Maryland.
Business Memberships run on the calendar year from January to December, though you may join at any time of the year (mid-year memberships can be prorated). Based upon your desired level of support, there are three different options for Business Membership:
Small Business Membership: $50/year
Business I Membership: $250/year
Business II Membership: $500/year
Current members of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce may take 10% off these rates. A Business Membership (at any level) entitles your company to:
Recognition in the Community Partners section of our web site, together with a link to your company's web site;
Use of the Allegany Arts Council's Community Room (for meetings and events) at discounted rates;
The Arts Connection, our electronic newsletter filled with all kinds of information about “arts happenings” in our area;
Weekly Arts Flash e-mail announcements about upcoming art events, activities and opportunities;
Special discounts from participating merchants, and at participating performances and art events throughout the community with your Membership Card;
In addition to your annual Business Membership, there are always opportunities for your company to sponsor specific Allegany Arts Council programs, activities, or events.
