Join us as we complete the final element of the mandala-making process with the Dissolution Ceremony, partnering with Tibetan monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery.
Throughout the week, the mandala has been used as a tool for meditation and self-reflection, culminating in a completed work. To share the metaphor for the impermanence of life, the sand is then collected and transported to a place with moving water, where the sand is released into nature to disperse the healing energies of the mandala to sentient beings in water and around the world.
A Note About the Dissolution Ceremony: This event will feature walking either down stairs or walking to a water location.
The event begins at 12:00PM and is free to the public. All are welcome to attend.
Special thanks to our partner, Frostburg State University's Cultural Event Series, for their participation in this initiative.
