The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to announce a Public Opening to celebrate the artistry of San Francisco-based artist, Charles Anselmo, and his exhibition, Memoria Eidética. The event will take place Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 6:00PM-8:00PM. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.
About the Artist
Working exclusively with photographic film, Charles Anselmo has traveled to Cuba more than seventy times. Developing collaborative relationships with Cuban arts organizations, he curates US shows of work by established Cuban photographers and conducts photography field workshops to Havana several times each year. He exhibits internationally, and also speaks regularly at Havana’s Instituto Internacional de Periodismo “José Marti" and the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes "San Alejandro,” Cuba’s oldest art school. He operates Anselmo Image Works, a photographic art printing studio, and continues to photographically explore urban sites that compellingly demonstrate the nascent beauty of forgotten places..
