The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to partner with Frostburg State University's Cultural Event Series to host the Tibetan monks of the Drepung Loseling Monastery for a week of contemplation, compassion and the art of mandala-making, along with a series of lectures exploring topics important in our world.
In "The Power of Empathy and Compassion, " we will explore empathy, being aware of others’ perspectives and feeling how they feel, and its importance in establishing an atmosphere of understanding, healthy relationships and informed engagement. This lays the groundwork for a wise compassion, not just a sense of pity or concern, but a much more resourceful and skilled mode of engagement and connection.
