Join local artist, Lita Havens, for a fun and educational workshop exploring plein air painting for young artists.
The 12th Mountain Maryland Plein Air Competition & Exhibition takes place June 12-17, 2023. This exciting event brings 30 world-class plein air artists from across the nation for a week of competition and camaraderie. Plein air painters say there is something special and challenging about painting outdoors - capturing light, managing the elements - it's all part of the fun.
The workshop is best suited for young artists between the ages of 6-17. Participants will join the Quick Draw competition taking place in downtown Cumberland beginning at 10:30AM. The instructor will lead students through the creation of their own landscape masterpiece. Materials are provided and there is no fee to attend. Pre-registration is required.
