Artist bio: I think I am essentially a landscape painter, but somewhere between abstraction and representation. Looking at the living, moving world is crucial, but everything in a work starts with a few marks - which are always abstractions. Sometimes I proceed towards creating an image of a recognizable place - and sometimes the image comes more from memory and imagination. I'm always trying to make a place, even if it is not always clear where that place is.
