Artist bio: Working from both Frederick, Maryland, and the Bedford Valley near Cumberland, Martin exhibits his photographs online and at galleries throughout the region. His work also has been published in magazines, calendars, and electronic greeting cards.

This past year, his work has won awards in juried shows sponsored by the Maryland Photography Alliance, Maryland Federation of Art, Allegany Arts Council, Southeast Center forPhotography, and the Frederick Camera Clique.

In 2021, one of his prints received the People’s Choice Award at Cumberland Valley Photography Exhibit at the Washington County of Museum of Arts. He also was the featured photographer in the annual Backbone Mountain Review, a literary journal showcasing artists in the Appalachian Mid-Atlantic region.

Martin frequently judges photography competitions for camera clubs and photo salons. For more than 40 years, he has been a member of various camera clubs and currently is a member and past president of the Frederick Camera Clique.

Martin is a member of the Board and past president of the Allegany Arts Council, where he helps to organize the annual Allegany National Photography Competition and Exhibition (ANPCE) and the Mountain Maryland Film Festival (M2F2).
