I am obsessed with how the body moves, wrinkles, and folds. I situate myself at the intersection between academic research and artistic expression. I study fatness and why we feel such strong emotions towards it through an anthropological lens, and I use art and drawing as a methodology, in analysis, and as a means to connect with people around me. I draw my body as a love letter to all fat people, to subvert the monstrous gaze, to make people uncomfortable, to make people feel seen, and to help people understand the beauty in our saggy existence.
