I am a Cumberland native and self-taught artist, creating original landscapes, portraits of people and animals, birds, fish and insects. I’m comfortable in the studio, and painting outside (En Plein Air). Every now and then I like to throw in a bit of humor, or surrealism into my paintings. My painting “Walking With the Spirits of the Youghiogheny Shawnee” shows a portion of the hiking trail near Swallow Falls State Park (Garrett Co), and is an exercise in pareidolia. If you look closely you’ll find that I’ve hidden two dozen faces in the rocks of the cliff.
