Sculptor-photographer Stephen Althouse uses artifacts as metaphoric depictions of humankind, and utilizes large-format analog (sheet film) photography to transmute his subjects into enigmatic minimalist monuments to our species.

Althouse has resided and created on three continents, and holds a lifetime rank of Distinguished Professor of Fine Art at Barry University, Miami. His current studio is in rural Pennsylvania, where he’s surrounded and inspired by an Amish farming community. His artwork is in numerous museum collections in North America, South America, and Europe.
