Allegany Arts Council Announces 2023 Individual Artist Grant Awardees
CUMBERLAND—The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to announce recipients of its first-ever Individual Artist Grant Awards. Artists in Allegany County were given the opportunity to apply for up to $2,000 in funding to support their artistic practice. With nearly 30 applications received, 15 received full or partial funding, totaling more than $20,000 in awards.
Congratulations to the following awardees: Frank Asher, Carol Costello, Bobby Croft, Bill Dunlap, Kristen Evans, Cole Fiscus, Lita Havens, Gerry LaFemina, Scott Riley, Ethan Romaine, Sarah Sagal, Chris Sloan, Francis Rose Trail, Mindy Wilkinson, and Barry & PattySue Winters.
The goal of the Individual Artist Grant program is to aid local artists in the development of their artistic practices and to make artists’ projects possible. The work supported by the 2023 awards spanned a variety of categories, including painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, literary arts, music, theatre, and film.
