Allegany Arts Council Announces Invited Artists from National Call for Entry, What Is…Love?

CUMBERLAND— The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to announce the invited artists who will be included in its upcoming February exhibition, “What Is…Love?” From 160 entries received from across the country, only 29 artists will have work represented in this exploration of love and its impact on our lives.

Local artists and Allegany Arts Council members selected for inclusion in the competition include Cecelia Battle, Clarksburg, MD; Albert Feldstein, LaVale, MD; Elizabeth Hestick, Fairmont, WV; Dale Lazar, Pittsburgh, PA; and Michael O’Brien, Romney, WV. $2000 in prizes will be awarded at a Public Opening and Awards presentation to take place Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 6:00PM-8:00PM. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

The exhibition will be available for viewing from February 3-27, 2024 and available online. While construction is currently impacting access to the gallery’s front door, visitors may access the gallery through our back entrance located in Butler’s Alley.
