Allegany Arts Council Announces Pop-Up Exhibition with Ferleman & Company featuring New-York Painter, Brian Keeler

CUMBERLAND, MD—The Allegany Arts Council is partnering with local fine art dealer, Ferleman & Company, for a special pop-up exhibition featuring the work of Ithaca, New York-based contemporary realist painter, Brian Keeler. The exhibition will run in the Saville Gallery from January 6-27, 2024.

Keeler’s exhibit, “The Golden Hour,” depicts a time of day given the name for its changing light and warmer hues. His large format works highlight landscapes, beach scenes and common streets found all across the United States. Keeler is an accomplished artist who has taken the top prize in plein air painting from Plein Air Magazine and has been a winning artist at the Wayne Plein Air Fest near Philadelphia. Keeler has also published several books and magazines, including a legacy project, “Light on the Figure: Aspects of Painting People,” which highlights more than four decades of his work.

A Public Opening will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 6:00PM-8:00PM and is free and open to the public.  Keeler will also host an oil painting demonstration on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 1:00PM-3:00PM.  The event is free and no registration is required.

The Allegany Arts Council is located at 9 N. Centre Street in downtown Cumberland.
