Allegany Arts Council Announces Winners of
2023 Western Maryland Watercolor Society Exhibition, Where Water Meets Pigment
CUMBERLAND—The Allegany Arts Council announced the winners of the 2023 Western Maryland Watercolor Society Exhibition, Where Water Meets Pigment, during an awards presentation held on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Juror Lisa Sheirer selected winners in a variety of categories:
Best in Show: Forest Fantasy, Lita Havens
First Place: Vista, Nancy Biggs
Second Place: Prickly Situation, Patricia Wilt
Third Place: Farmer View, Kathryn Delaney
Honorable Mention: Sunday Ride, Jill Baldinger
T.J. Jenkins Award: A Stroll in the Woods, Lita Havens
The Western Maryland Watercolor Society is a non-profit organization that provides a group forum for watercolor enthusiasts meeting regularly, conducting workshops, and exploring new directions in the medium of watercolor. Where Water Meets Pigment will run through October 21, 2023, in the Arts Council’s Schwab Gallery, along with an innovative “art by the square inch” exhibit by local artist, Greg Malloy, in the Saville Gallery. The Arts Council is open Tuesday-Saturday, 11:00AM-5:00PM daily.
