Allegany Arts Council announces winners of 7th Annual Allegany National Photography Competition & Exhibition

CUMBERLAND—The Allegany Arts Council announced the winners of its 7th Annual Allegany National Photography Competition & Exhibition on Saturday, April 10, during a live-streamed awards ceremony. Juror Karen Irvine, Chief Curator & Deputy Director at the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Columbia College Chicago, selected winners from an outstanding selection of photographs. Prizes were awarded in the categories of color, black & white, and photography as sculpture.

Charles Anselmo's photograph, Teatro Campoamor #9, was named Best in Show. He is based in Redwood City, CA.

1st Place: Franki Yellowflower, Ron Cooper, Englewood, CO
2nd Place: Blue on Blue DSCO302, McCormick Brubaker, Menands, NY
3rd Place: Untitled Studio Construction 11 (side one), Bryan Florentin, Dallas, TX

Black & White:

1st Place: Black Lives Matter, Sandra Chen Weinstein, Lake Forest, CA
2nd Place: Acorn Weevil, by Tim Christensen, Greenville, NC
3rd Place: Growing Up, by Norman Aragones, San Jose, CA

Photography as Sculpture:

Do Not Touch Without Consent, 2, Rheana Gardner, Cedar City, UT
