Allegany Arts Council Presents winners of 21st Will’s Creek Exhibition of Fine Art

CUMBERLAND—The Allegany Arts Council announced the winners of its 21st Will’s Creek Exhibition of Fine Art during a virtual awards ceremony and juror chat. The event took place Saturday, September 12, 2020 via Facebook Live and YouTube and included remarks from juror Jessica Beck and reactions from award winners. Awards were as follows:

Best in Show:
Silence; Kelly Bell, Washington, D.C.

First Place:
Sweet Dream. From Refuge in America; Sandra Chen Weinstein, Lake Forest, CA

Second Place:
Red Slide, Devil’s Backbone State Park; Sheryl Massaro, Frederick, MD

Third Place:
The Helper; Penny Knobel-Besa, Flintstone, MD

Honorable Mention:
Neighborhood Watch Dog: Anne Harkness, Mooresville, NC

The exhibition will run through Saturday, September 26 in the Saville and Schwab Galleries of the Allegany Arts Council. In addition to in-gallery viewing, the works included in this exhibition can be viewed via an online gallery available at https://www.alleganyartscouncil.org/willscreek/digital-gallery/. The Arts Council invites the public to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Votes may be submitted via our Facebook page @AlleganyArts Council through September 26. The winner will be announced at the conclusion of the exhibition.
