Western Maryland Watercolor Society Show Opens May 1st at Allegany Arts Council

CUMBERLAND, MD—The Allegany Arts Council is pleased to welcome the Western Maryland Watercolor Society for its 33rd spring exhibition, Color Harmony.  The exhibition will run in the Schwab Gallery from May 1-29, 2021, Tuesday-Saturday, 11:00AM-5:00PM. In addition, a complete digital gallery will be available at https://www.alleganyartscouncil.org/schwab-exhibition/, beginning May 1 at 11:00AM.

The public is invited to attend a free, Live Virtual Awards Presentation which will take place via Zoom on Saturday, May 1, 2021, beginning at 5:00PM. The link for the Zoom event can be found at https://www.alleganyartscouncil.org/upcoming-events/color-harmony-western-maryland-watercolor-society/.

International artist Hilmar Gottesthal will serve as juror for the competition. Now residing in Flintstone, MD,  Gottesthal was born in Austria where he graduated from the University of Vienna and the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, winning the two highest art awards. He has exhibited around the world in London, Istanbul, Athens, Hamburg, and at a Paris exhibition where Salvador Dali admired his work.  He has artwork in several major museums.
